are at the bottom of each post but i wondered what "click here to publicly +1 this as Phil Carroll" means. Is it not already public being a Blog. Also the "F, T M" are relatively self explanatory but whats the purpose of the "B" again is this not already Blogged, and if clicked where does it "Blog this" to?
Hi Phil - I'd never call myself technical, but I clicked on the BlogThis! button at the end of your post and it opened up a new window to create a post on my blog, with the post info inside the text area. I'd say it's just a tool to post a post from someone else's blog/site into your blog, while still crediting them (The title came up automatically as 'Phil Carroll:Can anyone technical...')
ReplyDeleteOn the +1 issue, not sure. Could it be a 'like' setting, such as facebook has and the more +'s received is a measure of how popular the post is? The BBC website uses something similar on its comments for news articles.

You are an angel Aicha. It always sounds so simple when Someone explains it as simply as you did. I am always nervous of pressing stuff and either not being able to reverse the action or more honestly of finding a whole new world of stuff I don't know but should. Thank you for taking the time to help and to reply to my post. I shall experiment with the blog this button definitely.

Hi Phil
ReplyDeleteI have trouble with the technicals too. I have found some youtube vids helpful. Like you I'm a little apprehensive to just press buttons and add things that I can't delete. Pressing the wrong buttons has got me into trouble in the past!!Hehe! Well, I've done something unintentional that sends latest blog comments to my email address/blackberry. Don't think it's necessary for me but no harm done. I like your strong blog page colours, it shows you mean business. Your posts are very clear to read but I have a feeling you will be playing around with your page..
As Aicha very rightly says above though "Nothing like randomly pressing on things to find out - clicking +1 opens a new window with". As this course says it's all about trying to find out by yourself. I really should have played around with the buttons a bit more.
ReplyDeleteCome on Corinda lets be brave and just "press the buttons" and see what trouble we can get into.
Hope to see you on the 4th
Stay safe - Phil
