Hope you all had a great weekend. Here's the link to my current CV
Phil Carroll - CV
The photo has gone funny as it was uploaded to Google Docs. If anyone knows how to rectify this, or has any other suggestions, opinions on the CV its self then please do let me know.

Hi Phil,
ReplyDeleteThe photo seems fine to me? But then I don't know how it looked before so I can't really make an objective observation!
Its a great looking CV. I don't know whether employers would be put off by the fact that you've not included any dates in your credits? As an employer they may worry that you're being purposefully vague about how recent your credits are? I'm not sure, but its maybe something to think about.
With regards to the link itself, my reply to your comment on my profile may help you to actually embed the link rather than just pasting the URL into the post:
* When writing your new blog, click the "Link" button at the top and paste the URL into the box that appears. In the same window there is another box that says "text to display". Type in here the preferred title of the link and you're done! *
Hope this helps.
Hey Liam. I fully agree with your point re the dates and shall definitely weigh up the chance that an employer may be given that impression against the overall simple look i was going for. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment.
ReplyDeleteThank you also for the info on the link, if you take a look at my Task 1a Professional profile posting you will feel so proud.
See you on the 4th

Hi Phil,
ReplyDeleteI agree with Liam that you may want to include some dates with regard to your work credits, however you have so many it looks as though you have not had the problem of being short of work!
On the whole, a great CV, clear and to the point.
A suggestion made to me was that I might want to black out my address and other personal info (think this was Liam again!) as it is a public document - you may like to think about this.
Also, your skills at the bottom seem to suggest that your strengths lie mainly in Salsa/Spanish...I am sure that at Northern you trained in Ballet/Jazz/Tap etc but am sure that it couldn't do any harm to clarify this? Just an idea.
